Vortex flowmeter is based on the Carmen vortex principle research and production, mainly for industrial pipeline fluid flow measurement, such as gas, liquid, steam and other media. Its characteristics are small pressure loss, a large range, high accuracy, in measuring the volume flow of working conditions almost independent of fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity and other parameters. No movable mechanical parts, so high reliability and low maintenance. Instrument parameters can be stable over time. Vortex flow meter adopts piezoelectric stress sensor, which is highly reliable and can work in the operating temperature range of -20℃~+250℃. It has analog standard signal and digital pulse signal output, so it is easy to be used with digital system such as computer, which is an advanced and ideal measuring instrument.
Vortex Flowmeter Working Principle
Vortex flowmeter is designed in the flow field of the vortex generator, detection probe and the corresponding electronic circuitry and other components. When the fluid flows through the vortex generator, it forms two alternating rows of vortices on both sides, this vortex is known as Carmen vortex street. Strohal, based on the theory of Carmen vortex street, proposed that the frequency of Carmen vortex street is proportional to the fluid flow velocity, and gave the relationship between frequency and flow velocity: f = St × V / d

These alternating vortices form a series of alternating negative pressure, which acts on the detection probe and generates a series of alternating electrical signals, which are converted, shaped and amplified by the preamplifier, and then output a pulse frequency signal or standard signal proportional to the vortex synchronization.
